Navigate to the BROWSE option located in the navigation bar. This section has four categories:
Choose a plant name from the dropdown menu. You will be directed to a page displaying a table with columns for Plant Name, Plant Part, Oil Identifier, Chemical(s), and Reference. Clicking on the Oil Identifier will direct to a page containing details about the essential oil, including the plant's information, isolation and analysis methods, and chemical composition. Clicking on the Plant Name will display a detailed page about the selected plant. Additionally, external database mappings for the plant are provided.
Choose a chemical from the dropdown menu. This will display a table containing Chemical Identifier, Chemical Name, and Oil Identifier(s). Clicking on “Click here” will navigate you to a page with five sections: Summary, Physicochemical properties, Drug-likeness properties, ADME properties, and Descriptors. Each section provides in-depth data, with hyperlinks for further exploration. The “Summary” tab gives overall chemical information, including phytochemical’s molecular scaffold, chemical classification, synonymous names from the literature, links to download 2D/3D structure and external database mapping.
Select a therapeutic use from the dropdown menu. The selected therapeutic use will display details, including Therapeutic Use term, Plant Name, Plant Part, Plant Subpart, Therapeutic Use identifiers, and Reference. The Therapeutic Use identifiers, and Reference fields are hyperlinked to external databases and the corresponding articles respectively, providing direct access to detailed information.
Choose an odor from the dropdown menu to view a table containing Plant Name, Plant Part, Plant Subpart, Odor, and Reference. The Reference field is hyperlinked to the corresponding articles, allowing direct access to detailed information.
You can search for details of the oil produced by a plant at the part level or get the details of the oil that has a particular chemical using the basic search option. Also, you can get the details of the plants that has a particular therapeutic use.
Navigate to the BASIC SEARCH option located in the navigation bar. Basic search facilitates the search for specific plant name, chemical name or therapeutic use name.
Choose between the following two categories:
Enter the Plant Name, Plant Part, Geographical Location, Chemical Name, and/or Chemical Composition (in Percentage) to access a table containing Plant Name, Plant Part, Geographical Location, Oil identifier, Chemical(s), and Reference. The Oil Identifier and Reference fields are hyperlinked, providing direct access to detailed information about the essential oil and the corresponding articles. Note that the Chemical Composition option will appear only when the Plant Name and/or Chemical Name is entered.
Enter the Plant Name and/or Therapeutic Use to access a table containing Therapeutic Use term, Plant Name, Plant Part, Plant Subpart, Therapeutic Use Identifiers, and Reference. The Therapeutic Use Identifiers, and Reference fields are hyperlinked to external databases and the corresponding articles respectively, providing direct access to detailed information.
The Advanced search feature allows users to filter and retrieve chemical data based on specific criteria. It provides multiple filtering options for efficient data exploration.
Navigate to the ADVANCED SEARCH option located in the navigation bar.
Choose a tab among the following:
Enter values in one or more physicochemical filters to access a table containing details of chemicals suitable to the given condition.
Enter values in one or more drug-like filter to access a table containing details of chemicals suitable to the given condition.
Enter or draw the chemical structure to access a table containing Similar Chemical details and respective Tanimoto coefficient. Chemicals are hyperlinked for more information.
Choose between the following three sections:
For any of the above three sections, use the dropdown menu to select scaffolds, which will display the Chemical Identifiers of the chemicals having the selected scaffold. The Chemical Identifier is hyperlinked for further details.
