BROWSE

Navigate to the BROWSE option located in the navigation bar.

Choose between the following two classifications:

a) BROWSE BY UV TYPE

Explore data related to UV types by selecting from the following options: UVA, UVB, UVC, UVA and UVB, and UVR-General. Upon selecting a UV type, a dedicated page will appear, presenting four tabs:

Each tab provides detailed information, including: Radiation Type, Dose, Dosage Rate, Sampling Time, Organism Tested, Study Type, Tested Cell/Tissue, the standardized identifier of the biomolecule (gene/protein/metabolite/miRNA) influenced by the UV exposure and the corresponding PMID (PubMed Identifier). Clicking on the standardised identifier of the biomolecule will open a tabular column listing all other PMIDs and their corresponding experimental conditions in which that specific biomolecule has been reported.

Each PMID is hyperlinked to the corresponding article, allowing direct access to the detailed information.

b) BROWSE BY BIOMOLECULES

Explore biomolecules influenced by UV radiation by clicking from the following options: Gene, Protein, Metabolite and miRNA. Upon clicking a biomolecule icon, a page listing the following information will be displayed: standarized identifiers of the biomolecule (and official name and symbols), Organism Tested, Study Type, Tested Cell/Tissue and corresponding PMID.

Clicking on the standardized identifier of the biomolecule will open a tabular column listing all related PMIDs and their corresponding experimental conditions where that specific biomolecule has been reported. The last column of the table provides a clickable link, which takes to a page giving information of the corresponding experimental information for that specific data. This page has the following details: Specifications of the biomolecule, details of the Organism Tested, UV details, experimental information and the PMID.

SEARCH

You can search for details of the experiments in which a particular biomolecule has been reported or get the biomolecules influenced by a specific experimental codition using the search option.

Navigate to the SEARCH option located in the navigation bar. On the left hand side of the page, five side-tabs are available: Gene, Protein, Metabolite, miRNA, and PMID.

a) Gene Tab

Click on the "Gene" tab and it gives two options of which one has to be clicked:

i) Search by ID

Choose the Organism Name from the drop-down list and/or enter the Organism-specific Database ID or Official Gene Symbol and click the 'Search' button. This will give a table displaying the specified biomolecule details, PMID, Radiation Type, Organism Tested, Dose and Regulation. The standardized identifier of the biomolecule (NCBI Gene ID) and PMID are hyperlinks; clicking redirects to the external database.

ii) Search by UV details

Choose the Organism Name from the drop-down list, enter the UV Radiation Type (UVA-radiation, UVB-radiation, UVC-radiation, (UVA+UVB)-radiation, UV radiation-General), Dose, Dosage Rate and click the 'Search' button. The result is a table of entries which satisfies the specified conditions. The table contains the following information: standardized identifier of the biomolecule (NCBI Gene ID), PMID, Radiation Type, Organism Tested, Dose, Dosage Rate, and Regulation. The standardized identifier of the biomolecule (NCBI Gene ID) and PMID are hyperlinks; clicking redirects to the external database.

b) Protein/Metabolite/miRNA Tabs

The above steps are same for the Protein, Metabolite and miRNA side-tabs.

c) PMID Tab

Input a PMID and click the 'Search' button. This gives a table with the following details: standardized identifier of the biomolecule (NCBI Gene ID/Uniprot ID/CAS ID/Accession), PMID, Radiation Type, Organism Tested, Dose and Regulation. The last column of the table provides a clickable link, directing to the corresponding experimental information page for that specific data. Upon clicking the link, the following details are displayed: specifications of the biomolecule, details of the Organism Tested, UV details, Experimental information and the PMID.

c) Experimental condition Tab

Choose the Organism Name, Tested Cell/Tissue, UV Radiation Type from the drop-down list and enter the desired Dose. Then click the 'Search' button. This gives a table with the following details: standardized identifier of the biomolecule (NCBI Gene ID/Uniprot ID/CAS ID/Accession), PMID, Organism Tested, Tested Cell/Tissue, Radiation Type, Dose and Regulation. The last column of the table provides a clickable link, directing to the corresponding experimental information page for that specific data. Upon clicking the link, the following details are displayed: specifications of the biomolecule, details of the Organism Tested, UV details, Experimental information and the PMID.

Note: Organism Tested means either organism under study or organism from which Tested Cell/Tissue was derived.
